Ritchie’s Bakery is a small batch pop-up bakery located in Vancouver, Canada specializing in "real", long fermented sourdough bread using organic, Canadian grown grains - never any sweeteners, fillers, preservatives, or commercial yeast. When choosing sweeteners for pastries, we try to limit sugar as much as possible, substituting refined white sugar for maple syrup, dates, fruit puree or similar. When available, we choose products that are in season and grown locally and buy from small, family-owned suppliers whenever possible.



  • Prep, mix, shape, and bake of bread and pastries for farmers markets and online orders

  • Working quickly while meeting quality standards at all times

  • Keeping work environment and kitchen clean and organized

  • Retail prep including stamping and stickering bags, packaging items

  • Potential for farmers market retail help



  • Must be available during the day Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Friday with potential for more hours if available for graveyard shifts

  • Access to reliable transportation to commissary kitchen at 1245 Glen Drive (public transit can be limited)

  • Minimum 1-2 years commercial kitchen experience (bakery preferred) or recent graduate from pastry school

  • Food Safe certified and practice of these skills on a daily basis

  • You are physically able to:

    • Lift 25kg+ to shoulder height

    • Stand and perform tasks for extended periods of time



  • Fast paced environment - being highly organized, having a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask is essential

  • Ability to work independently

  • High product quality standards

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to problem solve, especially under pressure

  • Eager to be challenged

  • A passion for sourdough, whole grains, and low sugar baking.



  • $17-19/hr, depending on experience and prior training

  • Staff discount, bread allowance
